Day Trip to York /
Saturday 19 October
Join our Day Trip to York on Saturday 19 October!
Imagine medieval streets, Viking heritage, Roman ruins, Gothic buildings and contemporary art. York is all that and much more.
Wander down the Shambles or get lost in the maze of narrow, twisting alleys of York’s medieval city centre, where most buildings date back to the 14thand 15thcenturies. Walk along the 13thcentury walls enclosing the town. Admire York Minster cathedral, the centre of Christianity in Northern England. Visit the home of the National Railway Museum with over 1 million objects related to railway history and the only Shinkansen train outside of Japan. York is also thriving as a centre for art and creativity, with over 30 museums and art galleries and countless independent and artsy shops.
The city is also big on food and drink, 17thcentury pubs, butchers selling local sausages, Yorkshire puddings and local chocolate makers.
